FAQs

Are The Crud Muffins a non-profit organisation?

Yes, we’re a non-profit social enterprise. This means that our art collective uses the money we make from selling goods and services towards furthering our mission to share the uplifting, unifying, transformative, and empowering capacity of the arts with as many people as possible. Although we employ commercial strategies, all profits remain within the organisation to further our cause rather than distributing surplus income to maximise profits for external shareholders.

How can I support The Crud Muffins?

There are multiple ways to support us, from visiting our shop, booking us for workshops and events, becoming a patron on our Patreon, following us on social media, sharing what we do with others, donating money, or volunteering time. Everything helps!

Do you take material donations?

Absolutely! In addition to money donations, we’re open to receiving any art and craft supplies you have lying unused around the house. Just be sure to contact us first to make sure we have a use and space for what you’re donating.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Unfortunately, we’re not yet endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) which means your donation is not tax-deductible. As we work towards becoming a charity this will eventually change. Subscribe to our mailing list and connect with us on our socials to be kept in the loop.

Are The Crud Muffins for children or adults?

Both! Children are often naturally drawn to our vibrance and whimsy, but our passion lies with adult audiences and rekindling their inner child through creative and imaginative play. We enjoy making art with, for, and inspired by kids but a lot of our spaces, content, and art is created with an adult audience in mind.

Can I come visit?

We’re currently working on getting enough cashflow to afford a permanent public space but aren’t there just yet. As soon as we have a commercial residence you’re definitely invited to visit! Subscribe to our email list and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated.

How do I become a member?

We’re working on what Crud Muffin membership might look and feel like but aren’t ready to formally accept members just yet. In the meantime, if you’re wanting greater input and personal insight into our organisation you can sign-up for emails to be kept in the loop for upcoming volunteer opportunities or become a member of our Patreon community today.

Do The Crud Muffins only specialise in art?

Art is a pretty broad field to exist within and encompasses a whole range of things, particularly when you’re as interdisciplinary as us and view just about everything through the lens of art! If by “art” you mean visual arts, then no. We also incorporate performance and are increasingly seeking to expand to involve more expressive mediums and practitioners in what we do.

How many Crud Muffins are there?

The Crud Muffins Inc has a CRUDmittee of 9 dedicated creatives, but we have an ever-growing community of collaborators, kindred spirits, patrons, and volunteers known as Creative Recreation Until Dawn Supporters, or CRUDS for short.

Are you the ones who do those little books?

If by “those little books” you mean our intricate colouring-in zines which we spread near and far, yes. That’s us! Visit our shop to get yours today and check out #crudzine on Instagram.

Is the art and installations The Crud Muffins make inspired by or created for people to experience under the influence of substances?

Not intentionally. As an organisation we neither condone nor condemn people’s choice to use legal or illicit substances to experience altered states of consciousness. Whether our work is inspired or catered for altered states is at your discretion to decide based on your own experiences thereof.

The Crud Muffins, crudworks, Creative Recreation Until Dawn, Bo Dangle’s Bodoption, the CRUD Space, the NadRad… are they all the same thing?

Yes and no. All those things are us but they’re different projects and narratives. Our non-profit social enterprise art collective is called The Crud Muffins, our Instagram handle is @crudworks, CRUD is an acronym for Creative Recreation Until Dawn, Bo Dangle’s Bodoption is the agency we’re involved with to birth, style, and find homes for Bo Dangle’s children (called Bo-Me’s), the CRUD Space is the immersive installation we set up at events, and the NadRad is the imaginative realm all of our art chronicles and the narrative which informs our entire practice as a collective.

Who’s Bo Dangle?

He’s one of The Crud Muffins, father to hundreds of Bo-Me’s and the man behind Bo Dangle’s Bodoption. He’s a quiet man, a great listener, and even better to cuddle!

Why is ‘The’ always capitalised in your name?

Because bands capitalise their names if they begin with ‘The’ so why can’t we? We’re not just Crud Muffins, we’re The Crud Muffins.
